Many people find Jesus' words hard to accept, especially His claim as the only way to eternal life. Some turn from His words, and end up turning from Jesus altogether. True disciples know that Jesus has the words of eternal life, and realise that whilst it may be hard to follow Him, not following Him is infinitely worse.
