The love of God for us is to reveal His glory whatever the means. In John 11, we see that Jesus does not heal Lazarus, but rather waits two days before returning to raise him from the dead. Suffering isn't meant to bring into question God's love or ability to act; instead it's intended to produce something better - the glory of God. Raising Lazarus from the dead was a sign given so that we may believe Jesus is our only hope of resurrection after death.
